Just watched Boogie Nights and I thought it was cool how the first half of the movie they were just stacking Ws and then after the New Years party at the midpoint everything just goes to s\*\*\*.

    They Live - 9/10

    Alien - 10/10

    12 Monkeys 10/10

    Mid90's - 6/10

The Insider - 8,5/10. Saw it in the cinema and goddamn if the soundtrack doesn't hit different there. Mann remains one of the goats

The Children's Hour - 7/10. Shoutout KTT's very own film club

Sweet Smell of Success - 9,5/10. Sidney is the slimiest POS I’ve ever seen and I’m so here for it. Incredible dialogue and endlessly quotable with some very fine performances. Need to watch more Lancaster, been impressed so far

    Just watched Promising Young Woman

why is this movie rated so highly?

it decent but it’s nothing spectacular

it’s a revenge movie filled with 100% stereotypes

like the writers just took the most basic s*** you could stereotype and put it in a movie

it’s not a horrible movie by any means but it’s mad…. basic

Carey Mulligan killed it, that's why. And it's not as predictable as expected.

One of the best movies lately imo

Saw this in the cinema yesterday
While I still absolutely adore this movie, the magic wasn't as intense on this second watch. Having already been on the journey with the main character Jep, I wished to find something deeper than on the initial watch but the film at times struggled to provide this, instead often opting for comedic turns instead of deeper ones. Still the ride is a joy to be on, filled with colourful side characters, a never sleeping city, endless amount of gorgeous cinematography and the most narcissistic main character I've seen in a long time. 9,5/10 down from a perfect 10

    The Master 10/10

It took me 8 years and 3 watches to finally develop the patience to appreciate this movie. First time I watched it, I was bored out my mind. Second time I watched it I tried to force some narratives that clearly weren't there so I found it to be an incredibly tough challenge. But something changed in this last watch. It really is a masterpiece from Paul Thomas Anderson. Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance, Jesus Christ, his character seemed so f***ing huge, I can't believe he brought whatever that was out of him. I suspect that over time I'll come to believe Joaquin's performance to be the standout because I found I was afraid to really pay attention to what he was doing, but I saw glimpses of greatness, saw bits of him literally becoming Freddie Quell. Beautiful movie, beautiful story, I was blown away.
