insanely good. expected the 3 hours of the netflix redux version to be a slog but i was on the edge of my seat the entire time. the helicopters flying over with the pre-recorded message begging for the surfboard back had me rolling
chef
lance reminded me of ed from cowboy bebop too

watching no way home finally and like some scenes feel awkward in a way I cannot describe but I think that's just how natural a true intersection of universes would be lmao

feb/march (sans rewatches)

& nas’ deadpan acting & this stupid script are disrespectful to me nigga,
Nas was just being Nas
and From what I heard the original script and cut was way longer and went over budget so they had to cut which f***ed up a lot of the story’s cohesiveness. But what do I know
Niggas don’t care what’s disrespectful to you tho

I actually like the movie, cinematography is insane like Casino-esque vibrance & the soundtrack is great, the disparity between those aspects & the story aspects are crazy though, if DMX’s character was the outright lead it would have been better, he’s a competent actor
Rewatched The Gentlemen
What a stunning movie

The finished product def had some holes. Apparently the original was way more fully developed and had more focus on X or atleast more scenes starring X. But that’s the business..
Still better than Belly 2
I still haven't seen Mean Streets though I have to get around to it
Jackie Brown dir by Tarantino
tarantinos personal print at the new beverly.

4 stars and a like on lb

2001: A space odyssey
9/10
Kubrick was a genius. The movie came out in 1968 man. Brilliant, haunting score, really impressive special effects for the time, and an absolute mindfuck in those last 20 mins. I still don't know what that ending means or the connection to the monolith lmao but as an experience, this was wild.
Without HAL 9000, there would be no Glados iykyk

Do you want me to explain the ending a little bit for you
hated everything. felt embarrassingly juvenile. and not in a good way.
"Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion" is genuinely the only moment remember positively.
that was pretty priceless tho
Yes please
The monolith endowed knowledge at key moments in mankind's development and the elegant ending room was just the higher beings conjuring a setting he'd feel comfortable in as they gently nudged him on to the next phase of human development as the Starchild
