    3.5/5

Awesome soundtrack. Loved how the movie was structured with the non linear plot. Some scenes were a bit too much for me though

Interested in Shunji Iwai’s other films too

    Soft and Queit (2022)

Went into this completely blind it and shook me to the core. Its hard to find films that genuinely disturb me these days but what the f***. I cant give anything away without ruining things but this one I will be thinking about for a while

A lot easier to watch than expected, aged extremely well and also very cool to get a look at the world 90 years ago!

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery - 4 stars

Fun movie, I haven't seen the first Knives Out but looks like I should. Daniel Craig seemed to have fun as a detective. I see it as an Agatha Christie inspired story, I enjoyed the twist ending and seeing the story unravel. My nitpick with the plot twist in the middle of the movie is that we couldn't have figured it out ourselves. I also have a nitpick with the ending of the movie which visually looked dumb. But make more of these movies and I'll watch.

    The Menu - 3 stars

A unique movie I'm not sure how to label it, mystery? horror? It's not exactly mystery since whatever happened was predictable. Not exactly horror but tension. I appreciate they decided not to make it gore and instead more about the setting, the idea and the menu itself. I think the food looked great and Slowik and Margot really shined. Except for them and the boyfriend none of the other characters stood out. They also weirdly just seemed to accept their fate. I didn't love the conclusion here either. That being said the movie did have a style to it and did feel over the top.

Both movies are about avenging rich pricks and assembling them on an island on some sort. If they were both going for mystery then Glass Onion did it better. Both movies are over the top but The Menu is less camp than Glass Onion.

It's just basking in visual comedy and production design; you get to follow a bunch of stories that are equally important and unimportant so I thought it was just such an excellent low-stakes experience

KTT2 Film Club did a showing of The Parallax View. Went over pretty well. Big hair Warren Beatty is a huge p**** magnet and everyone around him keeps getting assassinated. Fun time.

    Bruiser 9/10

felt like I was watching cape fear but with a heart. thrilling film about family dynamics. I think Trevonte roads would get legit best actor consideration if this film had a awards push in the fall. Crazy that this the film debut for this directors, he's one to watch going foward. it's on Hulu now.

Watched this off the strength of this review - movie was decent, kept me engaged & the run time didn’t feel long at all. But boy, does that ending fall flat lmaoo. No resolution, no real understanding to the audience why some things happened.

I can't watch this without thinking of the Louis CK joke about how Will is amazing because Matt Damon wrote the movie
