Pretty good film.. can see why it's nominated for Best Picture
Kind of reminds me of Scott Pilgrim vs the World
2 Days In The Valley - 5/10
A crime story about how many different lives converge. Nothing special. A lot of loose strings at the end. I feel like I have seen the rich artist's house before in Mulholland Drive.
Have y’all seen Ringing Bell (1978)? It’s an anime and it’s heartbreaking, eerie and very gripping
Side note: the Lion King HAD to have been influenced by it, on some Kimba conspiracy s*** but like fr. Somehow nobody has discovered this
Bruiser 9/10
felt like I was watching cape fear but with a heart. thrilling film about family dynamics. I think Trevonte roads would get legit best actor consideration if this film had a awards push in the fall. Crazy that this the film debut for this directors, he's one to watch going foward. it's on Hulu now.
Contact (1997)
I wonder how many times Christopher Nolan has seen this. Really liked it though it’s cheesy, ambitious, and just good pop movie making. We don’t really have a 90s Zemeckis equivalent in Hollywood rn do we
Also Jodie foster please hmu

this s*** is fantastic
I woulda thought it was the same director as moonlight, feels very similar
trevonte really one of the best actors currently
john wick 1-3
thought the first ones story was kinda mid but the fight scenes were great.
really enjoyed the 2nd & 3rd movie as the story were more fleshed out and the fight scenes got even better. id prolly rate the first one a 5 and john wick 2/3 an 8
sidenote: it was a trip seeing laurence fishbourne and keanu reeves in a movie again

he blew me away. I think I've never seen a character like that on screen. the mannerisms, how he talks and just overall energy was so refreshing to see on the screen.Felt like a throwback to great performances from the 70s. I doubt I'll see many supporting roles better than this the rest of the yr. And the other actors were great too. Great American film that will probably get overshadowed. I notice the ending was hated by a few people, but it worked for me. the way the last 3-4 minutes were filmed>>>>. This directors has skills
I really enjoyed this. Sofia Coppola really came out strong for her feature debut. The initial stages were a little muddled for me, but it came together more and more and then dealt a punch at the end. This style of “coming of age” (technically I think it’s CoA), I really f*** with.
Even though it’s set in the 70s, the 90s were definitely felt in this. Kirsten Dunst dominated and boys were good characters and pieces to tell the story.
4/10
Great acting by Brendan Fraser, Hong Chau, and Sadie Sink but the story wasn’t very interesting or engaging for me.
Definitely the weakest film I’ve seen directed by Aronofsky so far
