explain it
The cinematography, the night time vibes, the music, the assassin guy is fly af, even the annoying guy has a wholesome/sad story. I think it’s just really unique.
4/5
Actually terrifying.
And I never feel that way about anything.
Truly mesmerizing Satanic imagery here.
Bravo, Zombie, you were ahead of your time with this one.
the big lebowski - 9/10
this was a rewatch. probably the first full one since i finished it for the first time somewhere in 2014. it honestly holds up as a movie of its caliber probably should. i will say back then, it had more raw comedic appeal but it's still pretty funny honestly and sometimes i forget the coen brothers made this but honestly, the writing is so good at times and the actors comedic timing and delivery can be so nuanced and subtle that i kinda get that vibe that i am watching something sort of in a league of its own. i love it tho.
honestly implying it's not funny is my bad tho, it's actually pretty f***ing hilarious, i guess it's just that some of the humour has kinda been beaten to the ground since this came out but still it holds up in its own right
the scene where lebowski says must be exhausting about the nihilists is pretty clever writing too. i never noticed that line before but on rewatch, it probably stood out the most. owing to my experience taking on a nihilistic mentality from time to time in my adult life and how it genuinely does require effort to maintain or care about. weird.
explain it
a lot of it is vibeees honestly. i understand why you might be turned off by it because in terms of story, it's pretty scant or difficult to piece together. but the first time i got into it, it was largely cus of vibees.
lost in translation
pretty good but am i missing something? relationship comes off kinda creepy and i’m not so sure what the movie is trying to say.
is mike leigh naked the most disturbing movie ever put on screen? i feel like its a strong contender

Definitely not if you've seen s*** like Gaspar Noe. Weird in Leighs discography though.

Gaspar Noe isn’t the weirdest thing I’ve seen tbh but I get what you mean.
Lars Von Trier also kinda up there
But tbh naked for me is weirder than irreversible which is what I’m assuming you’re referring to when you bring up Gaspar Noe

Shoegaze vibeess. Similar to fallen angels but more Eurocentric
Ur just supposed to feel like… a certain vibe from it… it’s kinda cozy tbh

yes. kinda did, at times at least. idk it was interesting. not a movie to really go looking for a deeper meaning i don’t think. just take it at face value

Yeah I think so too and I used to have it as my fav movie back in 2018 when I watched it for the first time
Actually the more u think about it, the whole movies slightly racist so prolly better u don’t… take it for just a lil cozy thing like u said

You said disturbing not weird I've seen much weirder than Gaspar but disturbing?.. all his s*** has me
Lars similar but at least he can pull off some actually good cinema. Gaspar seems like a phony fraud amateur usually and has made several of he worst films I've sat through even aside from Irriversible.
incredible movie, just incredible
