what y'all rate the Pirates of the Caribbean movies?
never watched em, might start em this week
First 2 are classics, it's all downhill from there. Def watch the first 2, 3 kinda sucks but it wraps up the trilogy. Part 4 is OK if only for Penelope Cruz part, 5 is a mess and so Is Johnny Depp in it he's a drunken mess even for the character since he was going thru the amber heard drama at the time

Taxi Driver
Enjoyed it, but expected more from it considering the status the movie has and the reviews of it.
Overall a good and interesting movie that portraits loneliness and the consequences it can have on someone.

omg wish I could take back the time wasted watching this f***ing mess
Bad Lieutenant (1992)
This is the kind of movie that after you watch, you have to take a long, cold shower, then put on your Sunday best, and proceed to kys. Bleak and very unpleasant. To Abel Ferrara's credit, he manages to make NY look disgusting and seedy as all hell. Harvey Keitel was good in this, but the movie felt aimless and lacking in momentum. The fact that they were shooting heroin on set foreal was interesting tho. Will never watch again.

Re-Watched Dr Strangelove last night. Crazy how well that movie stands up still, Kubrick is a genius. I couldn't unsee George C. Scotts character as Tim Robinson though

Haven't seen the Nic Cage version. Is it worth a peep?

Most definitely, it's like 1000 times more batshit crazy while still kind of keeping the same odd non plot based structure. It's free in HD on YouTube rn
The Godfather
5/5
Xanadu - 8/10
Okay where do I start. This is more of a visual album than a regular movie. At least watch this with that mindset and you will enjoy it more. Do yourself a favor and don't try to follow the plot, you will get so confused, even one minute in, if your brain dares to make sense of the story in any linear or non-linear way. F*** that. Whoever directed this was definitely Team style-over-substance and he accomplished his goal cause I feel like I have just been converted into an 80s kid. I need to rewatch '96 Romeo + Juliet to undo this level of brainwashing because whew.
RIP Olivia Newton-John.
