i appreciate that kendrick doesnt broadcast to the world his activism. many dont know that he participated in those walks and george floyd protests. we dont even know how much he donated or gave to any of the causes he participated in, and i genuinely like that, because why should that be notable to us? to make us feel secure in our opinions about him? twitter bashed on him and j cole for non-publicized acitivism yet they were more in the weeds than many of them.

i mean he says it right in this song, is he supposed to announce it and feel a certain way about things? that is the entire point of the song, people care too much about things that dont matter at all, or use the word culture as a reason for bad decisions or wrongdoing at this point.

and i like it when artists like kendrick and cole put their feelings on a record instead of standard social commentary

The fear is in how unpredictable it is we can never know what our potential is but once you figure out the hard truth for yourself and goals the process gets discouraging because at that point what’s the effort for if your ceiling is yet so far and you’re not given a short lifetime to reach it I’m terrified that it would all be too late man

Artistically feel like Ye is unmatched but Kendrick will go down having a more consistent discography.
