If Iām being honest I kinda wrote off kendrick ever topping that album. I think the heart part 5 and where he is going production wise, changed my mind. I now think there is a possibility that he could surpass that. Are you getting the same feeling based on what you heard so far? Or am I bugging?
After DAMN came out, he said he still was aiming to make a record that sounds like an actual film, not just concept wise. And in order to do that, you need big grand productions to hear the music properly.
To me, that sounds like a live band with orchestrated performances, like he was doing on the Kunta Groove Sessions and late night shows. This album might be them perfecting what they started/attempted on TPAB.He said Itās Dark and Hell Is Hot, Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, and Life After Death are perfect examples of the cinematic feeling.
