    It means that the artist is going to do things that critics like for false applause. Example:

    • Create a story arc with socially conscious reflections
    • take traditional hip-hop beats and fuse it with elements from other (mostly 60/70) genres
    • be on the shorter side 10-14 songs
    • have live instrumentation
    • have mainstream “big-wig acceptable-artists” on here like HER, Janelle Monae, Jay Z, Thundercat, Anderson .Park, and Baby Keem.

    so you wouldn’t like it if this was the case? these are all good things
