I legit love every single thing about it. Primarily the photography and the colors. The symbolism of his back against the camera / the world - his focus being entirely on his family.

The diamond encrusted crown of thorns. The gun. The broken down apartment. His women at the back nursing his daughter.

It’s a beautiful cover. 100 times better than Damn imo.

I felt like so much was left up for interpretation with the DAMN. cover and for that I’ll always proclaim that its one of the best hip hop covers of all time.

With the Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers vibe I was under the impression we were gunna get a cover that a bit more fantastical and not as explicitly domestic. But the more i let it sit the more I’m picking up on some of the stuff youre alluding to, and how that may or may not aide the narrative of the album.

In a perfect world the music and the cover will fit like a glove hand in hand. At its best the cover feels a bit like something Sly Stone would do in the 70s.

I f***ing love the cover. The comparison to Freetown Sound people made earlier is pretty fitting, and in both it feels like a still life of black love. The framing is incredible, the details imply so much more to the story than this single scene, it feels like artwork worth a***yzing both in its own right and with the context of the record
