There are some great moments on DAMN. where Kendrick for the first time felt holographic, fully embracing the iconography and mystique weāve all ascribed to him since. Iām harsh on that album but in no way do I consider it a mistake or a faulty effort, I just think it was a career chess move and clearly it did what he needed it to do
I agree the highs are extremely high, and I by no means dislike the album. Just think it's less consistent than his other projects. It has a few more misses.
