At the risk of sounding pseudo-deep, I hope you all take a few minutes (at most) to reflect back on April 13th, 2017, and maybe even to 2015, 2012, and 2011. Don’t let it go unnoticed how long has passed since Kendrick’s last album. Half a decade brings huge change. Where were you the day before DAMN. in 2017? What city were you living? Have you moved? Did a relationship end since then? Friends you’re still close with? People you don’t talk to anymore? Did you get a new job? Start high school? Did you have a kid? Has a loved one passed away? What movies have you watched? Did you lose weight since then? Gain weight? Start a business? Get a pet? Buy a house? Get married? A lot can happen in 5 years. Wars have been fought and finished in less time.

It’s May 12th, 2022. If Kendrick’s music has remained a major influence in your life after all this time and after all those life changes…idk what that means but it’s gotta mean something important.
