I always knew that Top Dawg is a f***boy and it was a matter of time before we start seeing issues. When Dave left TDE it was obvious that something isn't right. Considering this is Kendrick's last album with the label Top Dawg should get his money, not sure where is the problem. I wish Kendrick do the same that Ocean did. To drop an album full of leftovers to fulfill the contract and immediately after that to release the actual album.

There was a rumor from @hasitleaked on twitter that TDE is holding the album back over legal disputes. I didn’t believe the rumor when I read it, but your comment got me thinking. How would TDE react if they knew Kendrick was planning an endless/blonde type release?

It is a reach, I am just thinking out loud. The facts are

1.Dave Free is Kendrick's best friend and the mastermind behind the curtains. Also the co-president of TDE. He left the label

2.Immediately after that rumors started floating that Kendrick will leave TDE as well. He posted a video and denied the rumors because his contract is for 1 more album.

3. Kendrick announced PgLang with Dave Free - a hint for the future

4.august 20 2021- Kendrick announced the new album + his departure from TDE

5.august 21 2021 Ab Soul:

6.Kendrick and Dave organized his performance at the Vegas festival alone, TDE were not involved and did not support him, no tweet, nothing

These facts make me believe that there is some tension and the hasitleaked tweet is legit. It is obvious that Kendirick is too big to be part of TDE with some mediocre artists like Reason. Top Dawg can't stop him but will try to get as much profit as possible. Kenny will probably address everything in the album. Top Dawg should be very careful, TDE's reputation is super fragile at the moment. Some of the fans are already hating the label and this will affect all artists there. At one point Ab-Soul and Jay Rock will join Kendrick or will leave TDE and will become indy.

It would be incredible if TDE was blocking Kendrick’s artistic vision, arguing that some songs should be on one album and not the other, or that a certain song was made before a certain date. It just feels petty.

Everyone involved has been amicable in public, correct? I don’t think they want to delay Kendrick. That’s why it feels like a reach to me.

I’ve personally been expecting a Q1 2022 release. After the initial OKLAMA announcement, there was an ANTIBOUND account that speculated early 2022 and it rang true to me. No real reason otherwise, like you said just thinking out loud
