Whats cool about this to me so far is how unwieldy and expansive it is. This seems like a very conscious and definitive reset. The s***abuse stuff alone feels so much more complicated and real than the life story GKMC is telling, even Damn is straightforward and simple compared to this
You put my thoughts into words bro
can't a nigga just like an album these days
some weirdos itt
That's why I don't get on KTT or Twitter nowadays unless I finish up listening to albums.
The reaction to we cry together is silly because at the beginning of the joint it says āthis what the world sound likeā so itās clear that they playing characters. I wouldnāt be surprised if that warning wasnāt even there originally when he conceived the album but he probably knew niggas would interpret the song wrong so he threw it on there
Hip hop is in the twilight of its reign
you're correct but not for the same reasons.
It is interesting the more this genre goes towards inwards (there's a whole wave of hip hop that's dealing with trauma @FIFTY950 this nigga's been listening to sLUms ngl) and less outwards it loses relevancy.
current event bars gonna date this album
he never had this problem prior
sometimes you have to sacrifice
S*** is fire. You peep yet?
Yea dude I think itās great
Thereās a lot to process but I really really liked it on first listen
do you guys see the diffence between the 2 discs. i donāt see why this was seperated
i listened to this while album out of order because i played it off YouTube. s*** still slaps regardless
The reaction to Auntie Diaries alone I think is enough evidence to suggest that we just aināt gone make it as a species Bruh lmfao thereās just no way people are this stupid bro. I refuse to believe it
yeah I think the album discourse is pretty much done and ppl will spend the rest of the year talking ab 'is kendrick transphobic'
Midway through, but I think this is a guy whoās exiting mainstream stage left. Potentially by design just due to some of the talking points on the album so far and song compositions. Itās gonna be hard to fit a large range of america with this kinda album at least midway thru. Not necessarily a critique on the albumās quality, but just my takeaway.
savior might be my favorite on the album
production puts me in a trance
flow, message and delivery is great kinda the perfect kendrick song for me
I feel like if Kanye dropped this exact same album he would get called crazy and problematic by everyone
I donāt know that Ye would be able to approach these topics with this level of nuance.
And thatās my dude.
My official review of this album:
If you love it, I understand 100%
If you hate this, I understand 100%
Elaborate on why you understand someone hating this
Imo if someone s***s on this completely Iād like their rationale
I feel like if Kanye dropped this exact same album he would get called crazy and problematic by everyone
DJ KHALED SONNNNNN
It was a weird first listen. Not what I was expecting at all. Probably gonna have to listen to it more to form an opinion. I thought he was gonna come through on some DAMN pt 2 type stuff. But he def dropped a headphones album
I agree except the damn pt 2 thing, I knew he was coming with something different but not something this much left-field lmao
I respect the boldness tho, kendrick got some balls to drop this type of album after a 5 year hiatus and specially after DAMN, even if its for the bad
First listen was an experience. Amazing.
Going to be replaying this through the week. Need to digest and let it sit.
Droughts really over.
I understand now why he didn't have a single for this hogwash
We Cry Together out soon
so y'all think the terrace martin s*** was kendrick or nah
i thought it was confirmed by his actions on socials
b**** im attractive
cant f*** witchu no more im fasting
him and keem just be in the stu cuttin up lol
what they saying
They gettin on him for Aunties Diaries saying heās homophobic, also upset that Kodak is all over the album when he has a song about sexual abuse and s*** (which is fair)
