Nah. Kendrick handled the subject way better than Dave has.
Like significantly f***ing better. Dave aimed for controversy with how he told that story. Kendrick aimed for empathy. Thatās what feels genuinely radical about this
I need an album full of rich spirits. Real futuristic sounding s***.
crazy how Soul nowhere to be found on this when he would be at home on this album
mhmm
I can appreciate this as a work of art but none of these tracks getting ran back regularly.

Exactly.
I need an album full of rich spirits. Real futuristic sounding s***.
one of the worst on the album
Can you please explain ? I donāt understand the album, what Bible verses do I need to know to have to like this album?
You absolute d***head, you don't get the point, don't you ? It goes way too far above your manlet's head, way beyond your memey reach, right ? I'm not even insulting you. I'm actually trying to make you understand what Jeff Mangum and Thom Yorke and Sufjan have a hard time teaching you : you are the ultimate pleb, you are way too concerned about what other people think about you. Guess what ? I don't have to justify myself about music because it should be f***ing ILLEGAL to hold such a trivial opinion. Kendrick is literaly, L I T E R A L Y the point of music. Do you understand that I'm trying to show you that your memes are embodying your plebness ? This could all have been different. You and I could have been friends, talking about the merits of hip-hop, but no, NO, you just HAD to s*** all the way down Kendrick's masterworks because you can't handle music with social consciousness.
Anyone saying this his worst album, youāre entitled to your opinion but just know youāre wrong.
this better than Damn and maybe GKMC.
idk but all I can say is it's so eclectic that it's giving TPAB a run for its money
this album literally felt like we were listening to Kendrick's inner thoughts
Forreal, no filter, literally unloading his secrets and his trauma and opinions. this is an intense listen, and very unexpected so its jarring to me
die hard my least fav so far but not bad
Itās so smooooooth tho.
The melodies got me groovin.
one of the worst on the album
Get new ears
I just donāt get why younger people have such a shallow understanding of art nowadays. I fully get why some people are triggered by some of the albumās content but thereās an ALARMING amount of people taking the lyrics as a full blown representation of his current worldviews as if thatās something heās ever done. What the f*** bruh
Everyone stays in their echo chambers
Anything outside of that is a problem
wtf is we cry togheter
I think for Kendrick himself (not saying how it'll resonate with the people) Auntie Diaries was just him learning how to navigate through s*** that he was exposed to when he was young (his aunt being a man) while still having to live in a non-progressive world where that was shunned but he knew even then those negative tropes they put on trans people is cap cause of his auntie/now uncle.
Even asking his mom why the other uncles hated him so much. And bringing up the modern situation with his family member in church, showed he does know that even if he doesn't understand, he recognizes the humanity regardless under a place/church that teaches him the opposite. Which in a time where we have alarming numbers of "don't say gay" type motherfuckers in office pushing these weird laws on the LGBTQIA+ community, is cool.
While still using the f bombs while yeah, it's wild to hear, are a reflection of the times he was in.
As far as this being an anthem? I would hope niggas don't turn it into one cause this is just a personal story. He aint a savior which I think is the overarching theme of the album.
This what the song did for me, I hope this aint taken as me telling you how to feel. Cause yeah, the sentiment can be seen as surface level and I wouldn't argue with anyone that thinks that.
this better than Damn and maybe GKMC.

Ya gotta chill
its very edgy
production is great, but idk what he's trying to get across other than turn heads
he's super vulnerable and channeling a lot of Kanye schizo-isms on here but with way more forethought and coherency
I'd say its very inconsistent, but the quality is there and its definitely worth a lot of listens
Auntie Diaries and We Cry Together are the most controversial songs on the album, and for good reason
both touchy subjects that people aren't sure if hes covering in the right way
I can understand the controversy Auntie Diaries is gonna stir up, but We Cry Together shouldn't even be that alarming to folks in my eyes, there's mad songs that portray toxic relationships if we being real
Itās so smooooooth tho.
The melodies got me groovin.
but no Jonboi feat
