I wonder how people feel about albums like this from artist.
Blonde, TLOP/YE, Mr. Morale
albums where artist just spill out their emotions unfiltered and the production is kind of all over the place
These are the best kind of albums imo
They end up being some of my favorites
Oil of Every Pearlās Un-Insides fits that bill tbh
this man has great taste
yes it does fit
Iām more shocked people are saying DAMN. is his worst album
DAMN is better than this one for sure
The only 2 songs I can't bump in the whip is Worldwide Steppers and Crown. S*** even Auntie Diaries would get spun.
This is def better than DAMN for me
any radio hits on this?
Ur wrong
Prob gonna be the highest charting song of the album.
probably, sure you not wrong
still lackluster in comparison to the rest of the album tho
The execution of Auntie Diaries was just horrible tho
I donāt agree, it fits the tone of the album imo.
A lot of this album is trauma, overcoming it and healing through introspection and being open. Itās Kendrickās perspective from when he was young and how ignorant or dismissive he was of it because it was foreign to him and wasnāt accepted by people around him. It took a perspective switch and a lot of healing over time to really understand their position. The song is less about his uncle and more about his journey to finally understanding and truly accepting them without fear of repercussions or stigma. In that sense i think the song was done very well
Yes. Itās sexual assault for sure. I was assaulted by a girl a year younger than me. I know how you feel
It hurts and idk how else I should feel because we were basically raised together as siblings by me being the older one I was supposed to be the protector but the roles were flipped and I canāt seem to grow past that moment I feel like I got my innocence snatched away before I could even perceive what that was. Growing up in the hood especially as a man being sexually advanced is something used to enhance your masculinity but being violated by someone who is perceived in the family as a resilient Appealing person leaves me conflicted constantly Iāve gotten looked down upon for being the late bloomer and being raised by women Iāve been forced to to construct my man hood in a toxic way but they donāt know Iām just trying to regain something I had no control over. I donāt hate the person for doing this to me and Iām scared of causing more pain by telling the family
this doing 300K
I can understand the controversy Auntie Diaries is gonna stir up, but We Cry Together shouldn't even be that alarming to folks in my eyes, there's mad songs that portray toxic relationships if we being real
no its pretty controversial id imagine especially because its directly portrayed in that light with the screaming
not the more accessible songs that are singing about it
id imagine thats pretty triggering to some people

we cry together is no different to any relationship drama film just its done without visuals, would be interested to see a MV for that song
auntie diaries is actually pretty fresh take on that issue
Die Hard is def a bop that s*** makes me endlessly do the body stank wiggle bro
Loved that song
Crazy how kendrick is actually good at this type of songs, Love. And Die Hard
Go to bed you got work in the morning
got today off b**** nigga
clocked out my shift today hype to get home for the album.
The way Kenny talking about Whitney super reminiscent of 4:44, can't believe he cheated on sme girl
The only 2 songs I can't bump in the whip is Worldwide Steppers and Crown. S*** even Auntie Diaries would get spun.
you would spin a 5 minute argument that ends with them having s***in your car?
godddamn this beat
You absolute d***head, you don't get the point, don't you ? It goes way too far above your manlet's head, way beyond your memey reach, right ? I'm not even insulting you. I'm actually trying to make you understand what Jeff Mangum and Thom Yorke and Sufjan have a hard time teaching you : you are the ultimate pleb, you are way too concerned about what other people think about you. Guess what ? I don't have to justify myself about music because it should be f***ing ILLEGAL to hold such a trivial opinion. Kendrick is literaly, L I T E R A L Y the point of music. Do you understand that I'm trying to show you that your memes are embodying your plebness ? This could all have been different. You and I could have been friends, talking about the merits of hip-hop, but no, NO, you just HAD to s*** all the way down Kendrick's masterworks because you can't handle music with social consciousness.
Holy s*** I donāt know who actually wrote this but they need to see Kendrickās therapist :elon:
