I mean, and I mean this with all respect, you canāt necessarily speak for the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community either though. Itās gonna vary person to person, but the intention is obvious and itās presented in a very raw grounded manner that, as you said, appeal primarily to cis-gendered folks, but shouldnāt that sort of be the intention of a song like this anyway?
To make cis-gendered, straight people possibly recognize the error of their ways in a recognizable format, as in within the midst of the process of acceptance on behalf of Kendrick himself? Something that would, naturally, appear ugly to those that it pertains to, especially for people who grew up in hyper masculine focused environments?
Iāve seen some people call it a āwhite allyā trans anthem, but wouldnāt that be far more inoffensive (from an aesthetic standpoint) than something like this? And likely than not much more shallow?
He could've just had more respect for trans people.
That's all we ask for
Ya thinking we getting a tour for this album
We Cry Together at Coachella is gonna be NUTS.
He f***ed TWO white women on 2 occasions but now he loves them
Heart Part 5 feels so far removed from everything on this album, Iām surprised that was the song used as the teaser for this album
Him rapping as Nip and then putting KODAK of all people is insane
Shouldāve done dababy
Kendrick is an actual Christian, Kanye doesnāt even pay his Sunday service
Kendrick calling nighas ugly as f*** killing me
Kendrick is an actual Christian, Kanye doesnāt even pay his Sunday service
Lets not have this discussion
Kendrick is an actual Christian, Kanye doesnāt even pay his Sunday service
"Yesterday I prayed to the trees" - absolutely not Christian
Its ruins everything tbh
Old gens not accepting new gens
New gens disregarding old gens
Heights that get inflated/exaggerated
Fiction seeping into history
Yup
Itās kinda scary and I feel like this album taps into that scariness of it
Am I the only one who feels like this is Kendrickās most immature album?
I understand that he isnāt anyoneās savior but there are moments where he is more defensive than usual
exact opposite. heās explaining why he isnāt a savior, why heās not perfect, and heās outwardly explaining his internal struggles. it is the most mature thing heās ever done
this feels like a musical of sorts. the album art looks like a set. the curtain closes on every song. even the title sound like some musical s***
kenny loves theater
Sme girl looking so fine on the cover
thats what I got
He was doin some s*** he wasnāt supposed to do, got that nut and wrote as the regret poured over him
Kendrick is an actual Christian, Kanye doesnāt even pay his Sunday service
