UnoDeuceKendrick outwardly expressed his personal growths, downfalls, weaknesses, and the reasons why heās struggling with those things. was insanely vulnerable, and now people are mad he wasnāt completely politically correct which is exactly what he was aiming for. he didnāt āperformā enough for some of yāall and you see that as a negative as opposed to him being open about his thoughts and struggles, especially as it relates to the trans community. and thatās exactly the point of this album.
you want to simultaneously see him as an idol with a huge platform to do good but only if he speaks like you want him to speak. you donāt care if heās battling his personal demons, you want him to focus on YOU, and not himself, and thatās exactly why this album was made.
hope some of yāall realize that instead of being blindly upset that he didnāt say things how YOU wanted him to say them.

OtosYeah the play comparisons don't make that much sense to me. Like yeah that We Cry Together song is straight up theater but by that same logic TPAB would also be a play
TPAB is a poem through and through.
Everything about this album points to it being a musical / play.
The tap dancing between songs are the curtains closing / scenes ending.
The interludes are monologues.
There are numerous piano ballads, piano and strings are also a very major sonic part of the album.
The title is very theatrical and the cover / photoshoot look very theater inspired.
The book Kendrick was holding is more than likely a script / screenplay rather than an actual novel.
