    Next time I f***ed a white b****, was out in Copenhagen
    Good kid, m.A.A.d city tour, I flourished on them stages
    Whitney asked did I have a problem
    I said, "I might be racist"
    Ancestors watchin' me f*** was like retaliation

    what did he mean with this? is he being literal about f***ing a white b**** or is it an a***ogy

    lol
    Copenhagen is full of white women, and he talks about struggling with s***in the past, so I think he's being direct & literal

    and the ancestor part is probably referring to the idea of spirits and that your ancestors watch you / follow you.

    Just now listening. Saved my first listen for my train out of London today so I wouldn’t have anything to do but focus on the music.

    We waited five years to listen to Kendrick rap about cancel culture and freedom of speech? Man what the f*** is this

    Mr morale. - I am - Jesus Quote - kendrick - kendrick with thorns - album cover

    The big steppers - all of us

    Iam. All of us. = Mr morale and the big steppers

    Oklama been a***ysed as being a phrase in an old language meaning "my people"

    Iam all of us - he's signing off all these papers as oklama

    Oklama = all of us

    Iam = all of us

    We are all the big steppers including kendrick

    I've said it before but this album is about the manifestations of trauma and breaking the cycle of hurt people hurting more people through generations. It is also about the prevalence of false solutions and prophets

    There is so much to unpack here this is not surface level kendrick there is a very powerful message hidden in this album and the heart 5 - peep page 1399 for my general a***ysis

    Bruh literally all this is pretty easily understood by just listening to the album.

    Kendrick really mysteriously disappeared for 5 years, released 3 months worth of mysterious promo making it seem like his magnum opus was imminent only to return and drop Recovery 2

    Whats the not afraid equivalent? Auntie diaries?

    as far as the music that's totally subjective. I just think Kendrick is more of a storyteller so his albums translate better when you hear each song in the context of the narrative.
    Drake is a song maker, don't matter how you listen to his music cause there is no coherent thread that holds each song together
    both make great music but for different reason and different ppl

    Yeah but Drakes make music that speaks to you it's conversational and Drake has the ability to make music for many demographics moreso than Kendrick for sure. There both elite as far as hip hop goes but like you said for different reason.
