The main point of album is that kendrick doesnt want to be GOAT. Hes not your saviour.
He wants to have a right to release mid every 5-6 years. Hes not a saviour so its not his responsibility to take care about his fans

Going in on my third listen rn with my coffee and man, this album’s heavy. There’s plenty I disagree with the execution of—while this is easily the best use of the “just say it and force self-reflection via shock value” that I’ve heard, I still get so exhausted by that entire artistic lane—but everything makes perfect sense in context. And the instrumentals, combined with how Kendrick flows over them? God f***ing damn, top tier.

There are very valid criticisms of this album like the dichotomy of Kodak’s presence given the subject matter and whether Auntie’s Diaries really needed all the slurs and deadnaming to make its point, but I can 100% justify them as a part of the artwork which is much more than I can say for all others who take on these topics. I said this last night and I’ll say it again: the difference between Dave Chappelle’s Daphne story and Auntie Diaries is that Dave emphasized shock value and Kendrick emphasized empathy. I personally find it to be an absolutely breathtaking song, particularly hearing it from the biggest rapper alive.

Imo, any critic rating this under a 9/10 is losing a lot of credibility in my eyes
