Drogoni'm going to start my third listen, and i'm really enjoying it thus far, but as you said fans are overcompensating massively due the expectation that a kendrick project brings.
I'll be deadass I just don't like the singing pop rap moments and I loved DAMN. He sounds kinda bored on Rich Spirit and he gives too much space to features that aren't anything crazy.
75% of the album is really great but 25% fat for Kendrick is disappointing

WESLEYS THEORYHim and TDE are fine, i think Kendrick just wanted to go off and do his own thing and be his own top dog. There's some distance between them now for sure but i doubt there's real beef.
yeah that's what I want to believe in an optimistic way. I could see Kendrick trying to do his own thing.
just feels weird cause I haven't seen any other TDE members promoting the album

white critics overlove him the same way that some of them love going OD hate on harlow. to make it seem like they "down". this is a really, really good album but us as fans/reviewers should try to poke holes on stuff we love too if we find them. not just say it's perfect cause no album is.

The same people saying prison abolition are saying guillotines. I can't hate on people who have the right idea though. it's all love. This album is about love.
But in the same vein, do we really think a conversation with Kodak, getting him sober for this record, letting him hear Mother I Sober or whatever, is going to change his life? That's what Kendrick wants to happen. He wants to give people those eureka moments individually. He doesn't really have a politic.
