A slur is a slur, I’m not saying the F word is worse than nigga with the hard R, but that doesn’t make it right for Kendrick to say it regardless

Kendrick ain’t even publicly support his label mate when he was outed but made auntie diaries

    S*** take

Kendrick bringing it up would bring way more eyes to that … he would want to wait until Isaiah came out on his own obviously

    in what way

I can see it just in terms of the experimental (ish) production on both and the personal, and raw songwriting on both. Both records are a pretty deep insight into the mind of either artist

He did 6 songs on The Melodic Blue. Schoolboy and Ab-Soul are both in album mode too. I doubt he's sitting on his hands. Did whole albums with Dreamville guys

That’s fair. Maybe he’s just really locked in this time with Sounwave and Matt Schaefer, at least they’re still around. And at least Ali still working them

I'm saying his screaming vocal inflections are clearly Paak style on TPAB

And Paak got that from James Brown so if anything it’s JB influence

that's not an answer to my question though. Also, if someone wanted to say the n-word in a song, then they have the right to. Bob Dylan said it in a Hurricane lol

You’re being overly technical. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want, but there’s right and there’s wrong. It’s universally agreed upon (for the most part) that white people should not say nigga.

They have the right to sure, free speech, but 95% of people would agree that they shouldn’t say it

Well they're both LGBTQ issues but not the same thing, and you're talking about the dude who said nothing about BLM, Covid, the vaccine, election, so not really a shock?

I’m sorry breh if any marginalized group can relate to offense on a slur it’s really us

Macklemore did the same s***, got praised for it

People love hearing the authenticity of rappers and their story telling, but when they get too true now it’s offensive?

I feel u on deferring to the offended but offense does not mean moral correctness

Yeah, I feel you. like I said for me, I followed the train of thought in the song and didn't see it as something meaning offense. I saw a few posts in here skimming through and thought it was interesting because I really didn't blink twice at that song in terms of controversy but then noticed there were people who did.

    Bro what

I’m being sensitive for thinking someone shouldn’t be using a slur in 2022?

So white rappers should be allowed to say nigga on record now if there’s an empathetic regret behind it?
