I love when artists do left field s*** (Yeezus, Pinkerton, Igor, etc) so this album is absolutely incredible to me
this is a good album
im gonna flip flop over this for the next few weeks
You're in the minority with that opinion. I've been following the music scene ever since I started walking. I know a lot more than you and I deliver solid takes that everyone can learn from. I am not a people pleaser so I won't pander like you might do. You are intimidated by opinions that are different to yours because you so badly want to fit in.
Not even just in terms of politics. Niggas were spanning kendrick gonna save us from trash music when drops for 2 years on here now
Fr lol
he focused on social issues for 4 albums straight then finally made an album for/about himself. It’s justified and even warranted imo
bad choice from kendrick honestly, drake and cole are much better introspective rappers than him, this s*** pales next to the best introspective songs by them
these words coming from a dude with the frank ocean bandana thing on his avi are insane
please don't disrespect the frank bandana avis

ether
The takeaway I have from this album is that it is pointless to sit around waiting for a hero to come and save you, because that doesn’t exist in the real world. Instead, focus on bettering yourself and fixing from the inside out instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.
I guess Kendrick been listening to some Jordan Peterson lectures on youtube when he got his phone back lol
I understand the message, I just strongly strongly disagree, you don't have to say "fuck it ima do me you guys figure it out" just bc u dont wanna be a savior
He’s not doing that though. He’s taking this platform he has and showing people how they can better themselves the same way he had. Sure you can just boil that down to “go to therapy” which can be problematic in and of itself, but some people just need that push in the direction or seeing someone they hold highly in that seat. In a way it’s better than trying to be that savior for everyone because like he said, you can’t please everyone.
It sort of reminds me of the “give a man to fish feed him for a day” argument
this
why the f*** did Kendrick think he had to use slurs to convey his message
Because he can. And idk why people always say “we”. Every black person does not care about other races ,yes even whites, saying nigga.

LET YOUR NUTS HANG ZACK
So we just going to nitpick every book and film that uses slurs as a way to comment on bigotry? just curious. asking for a friend
I don't know why y'all keep on trying to compare acting and niggas real life music.
Lmao there's deff a way to criticize Kendrick's use of that word without doing some lame ass Jack Harlow saying the n word comparison, but ay if folks insist

hate "stop making art" ass mfs man
Kendrick's album is nowhere near as awful and disastrous as Solar Power is man
Ngl the not your savior theme is present in both though kinda interesting that they both reached that same conclusion obviously w far different stakes and in far different ways
Kendrick's album is nowhere near as awful and disastrous as Solar Power is man
Nah I’m just trolling tryna say some ridiculous s*** lol

This album was his Beats, Rhymes and Life. Some really great songs and some decent and it feels personal. He's already made
People's Instinctive (gkmc)
Low End Theory (TPAB)
Midnight Marauders (DAMN)
A lot of people might hate this album at first but it will age good
damn didnt consider this
