you can be introspective without exposing your mother’s trauma, I hate when rappers do s*** like that. S*** reminds me of Eminem.

Eminem always came at things in a hateful way

Dumb as f*** to act like Kendrick wasn’t under an enormous amount of pressure to make a certain album and a certain statement and be present and etc

dude got shat on because he didnt speak up back in 2020,think that experience has a lot of influence on this album

There's no trans community we're part of every culture, ethnicity, community, whatever, why do you have to make it into a trans vs black people thing when the song is about 2 beautiful black trans people?

    I hear u ma’am but you’re being disingenuous

That’s how society is, there’s a prevailing way to think in certain communities

U really gonna act like trans people are generally accepted and respected among black people around the world?

Kendrick was speakin to niggas like Coli niggas who still use the slur in 2022. Outrage has gotten so quick this isn’t getting acknowledged

Just listened to auntie for the first time, and maybe I'm missing something but it definitely sounds like he's praising his family member who is lgbt and how he grew and matured about it growing up. The last line is literally him learning how saying the f word is problematic

People are calling him conservative for this song? What am I missing?

this is prime time for twitter engagement

i think a white person saying the n word is a bit worse than a straight person saying the f word honestly

Why is it a competition what’s more derogatory

Especially with how they both "abandoned" their phones lol

Yea facts lowkey there’s something there

It’s just hilarious that Lorde was under pressure to save pop music and Kendrick was under pressure to solve racism

With all due respect I cannot tell you how much i disagree with this sentiment, it's just individualism, it won't move society forward, you can go to the gym, go to therapy, meditate all those other things of self improvement while still being concerned with social issues

You don't gotta say SORRY SOCIETY I CHOSE ME, I GOTTA GO TO THERAPY, YOU FIGURE OUT ALL THAT RACISM POVERTY WAR STUFF OUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME

It also shows what i meant with a poor understanding of the nature of those issues i talked about earlier, bc it's not gonna be solves by individuals becoming better individual people

But whatever im abt to go to the bar with my friends sorry i choose me heh

that's what you got from this? lol i just figured he was saying that he's a flawed human and not this paragon of justice and morality that folks think.

Niggas was on some "where's Ja" s*** with him in 2020 lmaooo

if the message of the song is that using the f word is wrong, he shouldn’t still be saying it by the end, and same goes for the misgendering part of the song

only way to interpret the song is that he’s okay with using slurs & doesn’t actually respect his family members’ gender identities because he refers to them by the wrong pronouns the entire time
