Outside of Mortal Man a good chunk of TPAB is Kendrick talking down on himself
am I bugging for hearing this???????
Hood Politics the best song
Thug funny as s***
Said leave that up with the critics
these kinda reactions are so annoying, luckily kendrick called out these idiot white women on other tracks
You literally did not listen to the album if this is your reaction
:word: which run
on my first listen through it lost some grip on me purple hearts - savior. i went back this morning and i like most of them alone but in the context of a full listen i check out
I don’t think Kendrick actually believes context doesn’t matter, I think he wanted to provoke us into having a discussion through the use of a contradiction
With all due respect I cannot tell you how much i disagree with this sentiment, it's just individualism, it won't move society forward, you can go to the gym, go to therapy, meditate all those other things of self improvement while still being concerned with social issues
You don't gotta say SORRY SOCIETY I CHOSE ME, I GOTTA GO TO THERAPY, YOU FIGURE OUT ALL THAT RACISM POVERTY WAR STUFF OUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME
It also shows what i meant with a poor understanding of the nature of those issues i talked about earlier, bc it's not gonna be solves by individuals becoming better individual people
But whatever im abt to go to the bar with my friends sorry i choose me heh
Why can't you just treat it like the self help it is. Che Guevara was pretty much all about addressing his own behavior and being the model of socialism. Kendrick might not be a materialist but he's clearly trying to be good and be the model for good and lands correctly on those issues when he addresses them. Where are the most militant material rappers landing? Well Taleb spent a whole album in Yakub mode so- love that album btw.
Eisenstein regrets some of his earlier work not showing how the collective should strengthen the individual in a mutual reinforcing way. I don't see why the reverse can't be relevant (dialectics anyone). Being capable and secure and loving people seems like a great foundation and as a materialist what are your options for changing the conditions that will actually put those to use in any collective meaningful way.
CAPITALISMMMM
Lil Baby a capitalist himself tho so I really don’t think this is the message lls
This album will never be played outside
Wrong. blasting We Cry Together outside right now, getting a lot of stares, they love it
these kinda reactions are so annoying, luckily kendrick called out these idiot white women on other tracks
They not even mad at it lol
Lil Baby a capitalist himself tho so I really don’t think this is the message lls
Well yeah but that’s the underlying cause
Young Thug invented

this man Kendrick been depressed his whole career & apparently his whole life from what I gathered from this album
Eh idk tbh I listened to tpab yesterday and I didn't feel it, I think he really shows his weakness in that album and he doesn't try to be better than anyone in that, I think its the total opposite he's constantly saying he's not good and he could do better
I mean there's that side to the album too ofc, but then theres the other side where he does take on the role of somewhat a savior. These lyrics on mortal sums up both sides
"Let these words be your Earth and moon, you consume every message
As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression"
😂😂😂😂😂
Who u think wrote it ?
his label most likely. they needed a mainstream rapper to s*** out some all lives matter type song around that time so they picked him
I’m convinced y’all are insane
You don’t get it yet. It’s alright. You will eventually.
Extreme contrarianism and d*** eating are two sides of the same annoying coin.
Hyperbole & low attention spans are ruining a generation
I don’t think Kendrick actually believes context doesn’t matter, I think he wanted to provoke us into having a discussion through the use of a contradiction
People that do that s*** to play devils advocate are consistently the most annoying people I know
Someone wrote the actors lines. "Real life music" wtf does that even mean lol to reduce films to just fiction when there can still be truth behind the message
Bruh them niggas are acting. And if it's based on history you can't erase that. Niggas are making music in real time based on recent situations
