This album is really good but you canât really sit in your whip and put this s*** on repeat from start to finish lmao
Pac said on Mortal Man that most men are the most active in their 20s and then lose their hunger. And now Kendrick is in his 30s, has kids and started distancing himself from the activist s***. Kinda prophetic.
Never met a white Kendrick fan tbh

this will sound like a backhanded compliment or diss but i swear it's not: he has a gift for turning relatively boring subject matter (I'm rich...) into a very interesting story
yeah i understand what you are saying
Drake is the best rapping about himself and Kendrick is the best rapping about the world and other s***
I actually feel like he painted himself as a savior/messiah type figure more on Untitled 1, The Heart 4 and the Heart 3 ("Will you let hip hop die on GKMC release date")
But he's also been pointing out his flaws and saying he's not perfect throughout his career, so I get both sides fr
Honestly even if he did have a messiah complex in the beginning (which is highly understandable in his situation)
He couldâve definitely just had a change of heart these last 5 years which is a longtime to sit & reflect
he probably seen the flaws of that thinking & have regrets

Like whereâs the drums fr

Because the subject matter is far deeper than that it just gets glossed over for some reason
Like, he literally is talking about going to therapy for familial issues like dot did on this album but doesnât get recognized for that at all lol
Nobody from this generation raps better about himself and his life than Drake. Thatâs my opinion
he's not self aware on tracks like this though. He's bigheaded, cocky and toxic, which is fine because that's what we love from him. But Drake has never even touched on childhood trauma like that in music

They donât go outside so thatâs probably why
Yeah, he has done both throughout his career. I think he leaned into the whole savior thing because it got him awards etc
But he's also been really consistent and never really switched up as can be seen in that post by @gabapentin. I applaud him for that. Can't really say the same for everyone, Gambino wasn't saying s*** about black issues before TIA and Atlanta
#woah
