true I guess the criticism just feels a bit short sighted to me. Without using the word the song would probably have a lot less chance of reaching the people who need to hear it most. You've got to talk in the language people actually use rather than the language you wish they talked in if you're ever going to get your point across on these issues

It really makes me sad and feel like an outcast that it seems these days people online take hardline stances for an artist or group of artists and completely reject the notion that you can enjoy a variety of music even if it is from their contemporaries. I love Kendrick because of the depth he provides, I love Drake/J Cole because itās relatable, I love Kanye because he was the GOAT as I was going up, etc. Basically online identity politics has infiltrated hip hop and we end up putting these guys against each other when it should be a celebration we get to appreciate and grow with their craft.
