it still baffles the f*** out of me that people take auntie diaries so out of context

dude is literally talking about how his transgender aunt inspired him to become a rapper

it's such a delicate, soft, sweet song too wtf

youre expectations of the general public are way to high

Crown is defo Love Below-esque for sure

especially once the "thought a car would help" stanza starts

also the high pitched "cant please everybody" towards the end mirror it

people really trynna spin 300k and a 7.6 p4k for this into a bad thing just because it's Kendrick

After hearing this album I put Kendrick in the
Marvin Gaye/Stevie Wonder/Bob Dylan type artist

i gotta agree with you man

we haven't seen a classic run like this since Kanye, and in some ways it's even better imo. i really feel like i'm witnessing history in the making, like Stevie and Prince how'd they push out classic after classic

And the jazzy grand piano too, reminded me a bit of the Love Below Intro and Love Hater

Just noticed on this albums cover, Kendrick is wearing the same white shirt as he was on DAMN cover

It could definitely be a continuation from DAMN.
Because with this album it sounds like he choose weakness and decided to focus on himself and his family to not repeat the same mistakes, basically breaking the generational curses he was talking about on DAMN.
Because he definitely believes that that the only way to fixing s*** is fixing internal problems first

    i'm sayin bro

it's a very divisive album i understand that, but i think time will work in this album's favor. i think people will reappraise this years down the road as Kendrick's best album

There is indeed a convincing enough exploration of race and sexual politics when Kendrick raps: ā€œSciatica nerve pinch, I don’t know how to feel/Like the first time I f***ed a white b****.ā€ But the implicit misogynoir isn’t far from reach.

    What

I think the albums bitter-sweet life-affirming because you don't just hear about the hardships but also the breakthrough realizations
