After hearing the leak and seeing how horrible that song could've been, I will never complain about Rich Spirit. Deadass let out a sigh of relief that he didn't end up dropping that trash on my first listen

I mean if you like it thats cool man but for me its always been one of the worst Kendrick songs and the 2nd to worst song on Section.80

The new version does wonders for the song. The OG version sounded like it was trying be a meme or something. The new one retains the same lyrics, but it comes off so much more charming and genuinely humorous.

The “2pac dead gotta think for yourself “ line on Saviour sounds like a reference to Ye’s verse on WWMK. “I been thinking, what would 2Pac do”. Kendrick also follows it up with “heroes looking for the villain to help” which would be Ye cozying up to Trump. Idk, could be a reach.

As someone that went through a time of disillusionment after seeing how shady some of these leaders of organizations can be during the 2020 protests (e.g. chance's homeboy malcolm that got outed as a serial rapist), Savior hits deep. Especially the 3rd verse.
