You into Crowley?
i know a tiny bit of his philosophies, but i know a lot about the vile s*** he did
Just listened to it again before work
The run from Count me out - Mirror is a master class
Mr.Morale grew on me heavy and the transition to Mother I Sober.
Kendrick a genius cause he mentions r.Kelly getting touched and the whole rappers getting sexually abused and then mother I sober it becomes personal

Count Me Out and Crown back to back really hits me
Listened to Section 80 again for the 100th time cause of its 11th year anniversary and damn Kendrick had a better debut than Cole and Drake
I remember my first time listening to it. Was watching episodes of Bebop at home while rigamortus played
Wait has Kendrick deadass been overseas ever since the album came out
bro said f*** America.
He was back to see we cry together with the fans in LA. Then he left again

He's like the only big rapper from his era to have a really strong debut album, whether you think it's S80 or GKMC

So is S.80 an album or a mixtape?
So is S.80 an album or a mixtape?
its an album but gkmc was his major label debut and when he really exploded in popularity so a lot of people refer to s80 as a tape
So is S.80 an album or a mixtape?
It's an album, but I think the reason why some people don't count it is because it wasn't really sold in stores and s*** like albums are
But I don't know
That line on For Sale about prayer on his first album makes me think of GKMC. Genius says Kush and Corinthians but that's kinda a reach imo

Kendrick referring to GKMC here as his debut album
Some answers about his dad too, gives Father Time a little more context

For reference sake, itās an indie album/commercial mixtape cause it was put up for sale.
EP, OD and Section.80 are all albums, Kendrick even says it on EP āhow you drop a 20 track album and call it an EP.ā Because if Kendrick called them albums and negotiated with his major label, he woulda been at a loss.
Nipsey explained the reason you want to classify your albums as mixtapes before your major label debut. Even tho your fans know they are albums, when you go to the negotiation table, you give them less leverage because they do not look at the numbers from these projects considered mixtapes. Nipsey dropped 13 mixtapes (indie albums) to build his brand and the only thing the label used against him was his brand, not the numbers from the 13 mixtapes.
Thug did the same thing with his run from 2013-2018. Built his brand around mixtapes and leveraged his brand to sign a major label deal and drop his debut album So Much Fun in 2018
So Section.80 was classified as an independent label debut album. When Kendrick went to negotiate, they ignored OD, EP, and his other mixtapes and only looked at Section.80 as his starting point.

this post is chris jericho's sports entertainer of the week
My past few days, weeks, months have felt like how the piano on Mother I Sober sounds.
S*** just been really difficult lately and itās almost impossible not to feel defeated and feel like Iām to blame for everything negative around me. My substances have been my only escape lately since I donāt have any emotional support around me and I canāt stop feeling like itās my job to heal everybody. So deflated and burnt out without solutions.

Keep your head up fam. If you need someone to listen, reach out to someone you love and trust. If you donāt have someone like that, hit me up and Iām willing to give you an ear. If the music is helping keep listening. Thatās why we ultimately fall in love with it, for times like this.
