that nyt piece really gets incredible towards the end

i’ve read the story about dave fixing tops computer a million times. i’ve read about how they left and started their own company in every article, interview and essay for the last year.

but once that writer contextualized both kendrick and dave’s youth with where they are now, and really got personal with how they relate to kendrick’s lyrics more than ever, it felt like it evolved from coverage to a piece of art itself

I probably asked this before in here but do y’all think Kendrick goes further left with his music going forward or pivots to a more “commercial” album on the next one?

idk. like people have said in the past, i’d like to see a mixtape from him. hopefully he gets in that rapper bag to prop up pgLang

He’s a perfectionist so I wouldn’t imagine him releasing a “commercial” album just because that’s what the people want. And I don’t think he wants to f*** with his legacy. S80 to MM is a legendary run

Probably something slightly more accessible and not as personal tbh I’m sure every artist at the end of the day wants radio play so I think he’ll give us some catchy tracks mixed in with the personal s*** on the next one

Then again, maybe this will be his time to go completely left and not even do raps on the next one who knows

His splits on this next album will be the most he's ever earned now that he's left TDE. I think this will be his most commercial sounding album.

I would say he was barring out on some fun rap s*** and his wordplays always been top tier. I’m not saying it was mind blowing but definitely was a lot of witty bars
