If only K Dot had one of those IYRTITL type projects where he's just going off no pressure
untitled unmastered
Yeah, I think you mean something similar to what J. Cole did with "The Off-Season": A project where Kendrick is just rapping his ass off without taking himself so serious all the time with some heavy-themed concept album. I would be down with something like that.
It doesn't necessarily have to be labeled as Kendrick's next "ALBUM", but moreso an appetizer for him to just let loose and flex, while we're waiting for him to finish his next full-length studio album.
A keem collab project is probably the closest we'll ever get to that
Mirror might not be the most hard hitting compared to other tracks, but I think it’s the song that reverberates with me the most, and the one I come back to the most over time

Love how light it sounds especially after Mother I Sober. It’s like that breath you need when you’re drowning. Kendrick crazy for putting all that trauma into one album 😂

I agree, it’s almost too perfect how it fits afterwards. Thematically and sonically. During my first listen I was in tears, still partially recovering from the previous track lol but because it was such a beautiful and fitting way to end the album
And absolutely, in time I hope people appreciate the body of work we were given, especially since coming off from his multi year hiatus

Kendrick shouted him out in some of his earlier verses.
I remember reading an article that said Dave was the one who introduced Kendrick to Top Dawg, they met in high school. I think he became his official manager around the Section 80 era.
*Edit , i I found the article: forbes.com/sites/zackomalleygreenburg/2016/01/04/meet-dave-free-kendrick-lamars-30-under-30-manager

The Big Hit Show podcast did a season on TPAB and I can’t remember which episode it is, but one of the episodes has a pretty extensive interview with Dave — which is rare, usually he lays super low — and he reflects on a lot of those earlier years. Highly recommend listening to all the episodes if you’re a Kendrick fan, but hearing Dave talk about their relationship and growing up together was essentially great
