I think he ends up doing more like 450k as long as the album is more DAMN-ish than TPAB-ish

If I gotta choose between left field or mainstream for sales, I know which one Iâm choosing
He is in a Kendrick anticipation thread l, telling a Kendrick Stan to shut the f*** up because they think TPAB is perfect lol.
He canât be that bored when the block button exist. Then he proceeds to write his own paragraph after that đ
i mean when u have a dude waxing pretentious about a great album and u r told u cant """""objectively""""" criticize it then i'd get a little irritated too

But DAMN was excellent and âmainstream.â You wouldnât rather have both?

You get irritated by something you canât see. Blocking someone takes 2 seconds. He wonât stop saying that. He has been saying that about Kendrick from since Ktt1. Fool me once. You know what they said about being fooled again.
But DAMN was excellent and âmainstream.â You wouldnât rather have both?
DAMN. Was excellent. My second favorite Kendrick album. But I know Kendrick has it in him to really push the limit of this genre we love and me as a listener.
gkmc: 91/100
tpab: 96/100
damn: 95/100
Gonna be crazy if kendrick manages to drop the 3rd highest rated rap album of all time, considering he already has #1 and #2. The man's only competition is himself.

He wonât just because one or two subpar reviews can drop it a lot, and I guarantee there will be a few hipster outlets that have moved past Kendrick and judge this album pretty harshly

The fact that gkmc is rated lower than damn makes this pretty meaningless

I think its fairly accurate. Like from a pure musical (and objective) angle, both DAMN and TPAB should be rated higher.
GKMC had way too many musical flaws to be rated higher than these 2.
You may personally enjoy gkmc more, but its simply not as good as the other 2 tbh.
The blue notes on gkmc are f***ed up, the syncop could have been improved as well, the alt keys on 2 beats as well...

You shouldnt be interacting with kendrick sxn alts tho thats like the #1 unwritten ktt rule lmao

Jesus christ, shut the f*** up you dweeb.
There's definitely some resentment towards kendrick from him being away for so long and mysterious the past 4-5 years.
There's a lot of rap fans out there that are hoping the album doesn't deliver or hope his album sales underperform this time around.
This album most definitely doing 400k+ no matter what it sounds like imo. He got family ties platinum in like 4 months, the anticipation is thru the roof.

Itâs funny to see.
Club Lover Boy was such a critical failure theyâre seething at the likelihood of Kendrick dropping a good album.
I donât care about album sales. I think itâs weird when non-industry people hold those numbers in such a high regard. I would much rather have an experimental album than a pop album, sales be damned.

If this album ends with an 8 at the front, itâs a certified flop
But seriously, Kendrick might just have the highest expectations of any artist in any genre of music rn.
No wonder itâs taken so long, itâs gotta be tough to not lose your head with all that saddled on you, or start having ego trips that spill into the quality of the music.
Fortunately I feel like the people he has around him probably arenât straight yes men and would be honest with him.

This. GKMC is great, but it has a couple mid points. The outro Real is objectively just ok, and arguably one of his worst songs. Good kid is also corny at times. Great verses.
