He had just released the DAMN album (April 14th) a week before he sent this tweet out, so why would he feel the need to let people know that no new music would be coming when he had already released a brand new album?

I’m not too optimistic about a Dre Day release. I’m not convinced Dre Day wasn’t simply Super Bowl Sunday itself.

I know that industry standard for releases would be at that time, but Kendrick has the ability to drop whenever he chooses. If there was actually a song for Dre’s birthday, it could be released at a more prime time on Friday. Especially if it’s a music video. Here’s hoping though.
