thread is a case study of miserable individuals who think way too myopically and are at the peak rtardation part of the dunning kruger curve. it doesnt take much to see the real world use case and disruptive nature of Kendrick Lamar and anyone who actively decided not to at least entertain the possibility is gonna look pretty f***in stupid and their talking points that they think are so smart, were totally meaningless and they just cucked themselves in the end
not to mention the mental gymnastics/psyopping which must have occurred for these Drake stans to have been fooled into thinking the most grassroots, best rapper of all time, is a top down TDE/Dr Dre laundering scheme to exploit the little guy. there are threads on ktt1 from 2011 and maybe earlier about Kendrick when he only dropped S80, from posters who are still active on ktt2 today. you had 11 years to participate in what would end up putting more musical knowledge into the hands of people in their twenties than anything ever before but you missed it because your worldview is too f***ing dejected, reflective of your character, and instead of visiting the Kendrick thread two clicks away you s***posted about drake and kanye and played fortnite and binged zizek and "dunked" on cringey Kendrick stans
Cli City put me on to good Kendrick music and he couldve done it for you too if your soul wasnt so f***ing rotten
Sales prediction
Drake 2017: More Life - 280k fw off streams
Drake 2021: CLB - 562k fw off streams
100% increase in streams from 2017
J Cole 2016: 4YEO - 118k fw off streams
J Cole 2021: Off Season - 251k fw off streams
115% increase
Future 2017: self titled - 80k fw off streams
Future 2022: INLY - estimated 190k off streams
140% increase
Kendrick 2017: Damn - 250k fw off streams
Streaming has tripled in audience since Damn dropped. Damn had one of the biggest first weeks for streaming ever at the time. This albums got years of hype going into it. Just off streams, Iām thinking he could get between 500 and 600k.
Weāll have to see what heās got for physicals first week. Physical sales will vary widely on availability

That's crazy you say that because thread is a case study of miserable individuals who think way too myopically and are at the peak rtardation part of the dunning kruger curve. it doesnt take much to see the real world use case and disruptive nature of Kendrick Lamar and anyone who actively decided not to at least entertain the possibility is gonna look pretty f***in stupid and their talking points that they think are so smart, were totally meaningless and they just cucked themselves in the end

Ok but copy paste your post here

Lol what can I say Iām a numbers fan
Also saw the projection of 350k and just find that totally unrealistic. A 40% increase when streaming has increased by 300%, all his contemporaries streaming sales have at least doubled, and his album is one of the most hyped in recent memory with a 5 year gap? Nah
Physicals for rappers first week sales in 2021 ranged from 35k-55k (Kanye, Cole, Tyler, and Drake). I feel like Kendrick fans are more likely to buy his album physically than some other fanbases (based off higher than normal physical sales from previous albums and the record vinyl sales of GKMC).
this might be album of the century
first album heās releasing in his 30s, s***s gonna be so complex and evolved. Canāt even imagine.
Also the 5th album rule
I just want the pre order link for the book rn. Need something new to read lol

There is no book.

It looks like a case for the deluxe edition, book looks so aesthetically designed to be tattered and old I doubt if it was a book being released it would look like that, but maybe heās just had that copy printed for a while lol idk

That would be even more expensive to make though, might as well put words to the book if it's not a 1 of 1 pressing

but it's the 4th according to the artist
but you right AOTC AOTL

no it wouldnāt lol, the most expensive part of a book is the hundreds of pages with printed words
If itās just a hollowed out container itās cheaper to make

You can tell itās not 100s of pages if anything there might be 10 thick cardboard childrenās book esque pages

Strictly speaking this is his 4th according to Kendrick

Technically itās his fifth studio album, gkmc is his major label debut which is why Kendrick referred to pimp as LP2, this is still technically his fifth studio album

Honestly kind of hope this is right, if there's an accompanying book you know it's gonna be some deep/vague/metaphorical s*** that will take like a month to decipher alongside the album lmao

I count the way Kenny does
I count the way Kenny does
Same here, but the rule doesnāt apply to how I perceive his albums, just the number of releases
