How to Get away with Murder some fun drama
what a movie man. had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. masterclass in filmmaking.
BORING AS F***.
Maybe I should rewatch later when I'm in a better headspace cause, Jesus, I didn't like this at all. But everyone seems to love it so maybe the problem is me I guess, so yeah, maybe I should give a second chance??
I didn't like the direction. I didn't like the tone. In my head, this could've been like a comedy or maybe a romcom. 90s/early 2000s style. Sexy and funny. You know, a movie about a love triangle during a tennis competition. In fact, this is the impression I got from the first trailer. Not this overly serious film that it insists upon itself.
Nope, didn't like the score. I actually think it's very annoying and corny. And way too loud sometimes.
Didn't like the endless jumping back and forth.
Lowkey, the actors were a problem to me despite them being good. The two twinks are not sexy and Zendaya still feels like a teenager to me. We needed HOT PEOPLE to sell this story.
But the most egregious thing to me was just how boring it was. Just talking, talking, talking, then tennis scenes in silence, then more talking, then tennis. Then the final match going on for about 45 minutes because of all the unnecessary slowmotion along with shots of Zendaya moving her head while the annoying score was playing.
UGH.
