The Night of the Hunter (1955)
This brilliant little film somehow flopped critically and commercially. If you haven't seen it, fix that please. The dialogue is still fresh, the performances all round excellent, the use of lighting and shadows exemplary.
4.5/5

Monster (2023)
Damn, this movie is the s***. It's Rashomon with a devastatingly compassionate lens. I'm late to the party, but if there's someone else who hasn't seen it, please check it out. It's incredible.

Old Henry (2021)
A solid, economic Western that takes some familiar roads and breathes new life into them.
