The Knick episode 1

One of the best episodes of television I have seen in a long time. The amount of things Soderbergh is tackling here from classism, racism, poverty from a historical perspective that never feels preachy or twisted into a modern liberal agenda is beautiful to see.

pretty disappointing Polish series about a d*** dealer getting into a mess. probably would have been better as a movie but the main character was uninteresting, a lot of the direction was style over substance, though some of the artistic choices worked well, and the writing was cliche. liked the ending, but wouldn't recommend this one.

oh im not watching either (as of now). last time i listened to twitter i watched Bridgerton and it was The CW-tier crap just as i suspected but still went against instincts cuz it was trending for weeks

can't trust those people. I hope someone I trust takes the plunge so I can know if its even worth its short 5-6 hours

Watched all 16 episodes in two days, it's very good. Was pleasantly surprised by IU's acting abilities. Overall flow of the show is so captivating, I kept waching one episode after another.

The themes and the plot are very well developed. I feel like there wasn't a debate between what's more important - themes or the story as they are equally interesting, and there are also many geniunely cool quotes about the meaning of life etc., I didn't feel like any of them were heavy-handed or forced.
