Came across this and thought it was interesting. Early footage from what was to be the tie in for Sam Raimis 4th film. Sucks we never got that 4th movie for one cuz I loved Raimis trilogy, and even though Spider Man 3 game was nowhere near as good as the 2nd game, this fourth game could've had massive potential considering if they didn't rush the game out with the movie.

Even looking at the clearly unfinished and unpolished state, there was some pretty cool stuff here, like the way you could interact and web up the helicopter.

Luckily, a few years later, Insomniac would come through and save the Spider Man franchise, but there was a certain charm that the Raimi movies/games had from that era.

Yup I had it on ps2. It's what many considered the best spider man game of all time, until the ps4 game came out. It certain ways, I feel like that game still did certain things better than the new game.

I'm so happy the PS4 Spiderman doesn't have that web sound effect when swinging. That would have been annoying.

It's funny I was saying in another post that even spiderman 2 had a certain charm to it and did a few things better than the ps4 game imo. As amazing as the ps4 game is. Those Raimi era games were fun and I'm sure this and the movie tie in would have been dope.

I agree with everything said here. It's not popular to criticize or critique ps4 spiderman lol ppl will tear you to shreds for daring to, but I'm honest lol certain aspects of it were disappointing. I cant really describe what, though. For all its production values something about it felt off. Maybe the side missions felt better, or maybe like you mentioned the city felt a bit more grime and gritty in the spm2. I still enjoyed the ps4 game though, even though I never completed the main story. With enough polish this would have been amazing man. Too bad.

Man this brings back so many memories. I remember when I didnt have a ps2 yet, back in like 2001 or something and my dad finally put one on layaway for me lmao. We would go every so often to put like 20 or 30 bucks down on it lmao. Anyway I would go to rent movies at blockbuster and see spiderman for ps2 for rent and constantly read the back cover of it and be amazed at the screenshots on the back if the box. I couldn't wait for my dad to finally pay off my ps2 so I could try the game. The good old days man. Getting that ps2 was a very big deal at the time cuz it was still super popular and I always got the new systems way after the popularity for them had died. Lol I'm ranting but I miss those days with games like this.
