The fact that a rap song that was just straight bars in 2021 is top 3 is great fir the genre whether you are a fan on the man drake or not.
Fr, didnt realize that when I first saw this thread when's the last time a song with LPF structure chart so high if ever and to do that in the climate that is 2021. If he can maintain its position in top 10 after this week, that's an insane feat
this might go down as one of the craziest billboard moments this decade
Both this and him having 7 tracks in the top 10 when scorpion dropped

id wait til kdot drops tbh
Whats Next the worst song of the 3
the mix on the leak even better than it too
Take care, nwts, iyrtitl
What exactly were risky about those albums? Just seems like good old drake?
It's clear he will chart high no matter the song... So why are we still getting the same unadventurous s*** from Drake?
Take care, nwts, iyrtitl
Take Care is the only answer
NWTS was just an evolution of that album.
IYRTITL wasn't that risky since he was already popular lol

IYRTITL was risky as hell
He basically challenge the mainstream perception he only made soft-tone hip hop music
He also changed his image (beard)

That's not risky lol. That's just a soft brand reboot. He already was moving that direction with his 2014 singles.

why are the damn vocals so panned to the left

You know how many artists fail at their rebrand?
MC Hammer failed
RUN DMC failed
I could add more artists but I don’t want to derail the thread. The bottom line is it was a risk that wasn’t necessary, he could’ve played it safe and stayed in that soft core lane but he didn’t and it’s still paying off

I can agree with that, but he still makes soft songs. He always had that as a fall back and he already was too popular to fail if the album flopped.
If it's a risk, it was a very minor one especially with the label he was signed to
