my favorite Bey album along with self-titled. I have no idea why KTT vehemently hates Bey lol
They hate black women
When Beyoncé literally faked a whole cheating scandal just for sales
These labels/artist are ruthless lmaooo
Better than anything fivi could release
beyonce verzuz fivio foreign to settle this
nah but the album is cool, not really rockin w the fake scandal promo s*** tho
her strongest album statement to date imo and All Night is one of her greatest records. not to mention the film/visuals.
Is op new user?
Only started seeing him few months ago
I’ve been here since the beginning
I was real into it when it came out, but in 2021 the one-off genre shifts feel super gimmicky. Still love sorry, sandcastles, forward, all night, formation. But the jack white, Kendrick, and father John misty tracks are kinda jarring.
what an interesting perspective.
How are those tracks jarring?
do I need to explain how a heavier rock song and an alt country song are jarring on album otherwise made up of somewhat traditional Beyoncé pop songs? Freedom feels jarring to me too but that’s prolly just personal preference
Nothing is garbage about those tracks
I swear this forum gets me tight each and everyday
remember doing a couple bags and watching all these videos til about 10am
haven’t gone back to it in years

Song came out great
This album is better than Anti
anti the one with jarring transitions and got a few trash songs like woo

And pose
And pose
i don’t count that song cos it’s a deluxe song but jesus it sucks

lemonade as a whole may be "jarring" when put beside the rest of Bey's catalog, but in my opinion it's her most cohesive work yet. those songs are all held together by a common thread and thematically it connects wonderfully. tracks like don't hurt yourself and freedom are filled with rage and fury, so the music naturally reflects that.
would it be more or less jarring to you if she fully embraced her Texan and made an entire country project? would your feelings be the same?

I think it would depend. I know she said that song was based in her country Texas roots, but I have a hard time buying the authenticity when I’m not aware of her making that kind of music before or after working w FJM. Same deal with the jack white one.
It would be less jarring on a country album tho, and I honestly don’t know enough about Beyoncé to speak on her personal history w the genre
I also have a hard time buying Justin timberlake’s country roots album for reference. even taylors folk album feels forced despite her well documented country origins.
