ICYMI, the Writers' Guild of America has gone on strike. The Writers' Guild has 12,000 members consisting of writers for television, film, and digital media. They are striking because they want better pay, better residuals from streaming, and bigger writing rooms to reduce strain on individual writers.

Social media is trying to paint this as a genuine working-class movement, just like the healthcare strikes that have occurred across the globe after COVID-19, or the recent transport strikes in Australia and the UK. Accordingly, we are expected to support the writers and their demands.

Is this right? Honestly I think most American screenwriters make propaganda or Marvel garbage. I don't really want them to be paid more. I think they should suffer. Sound off if you agree or disagree

The writers are only asking for 2% of the profits the companies make from their work. Y’all should really research

And no, it’s not up to those rich writers to pay the smaller writers since they all make a fraction of the billions generated by the industry

i dont think its up to the more well-off writers to pay the ones who are struggling, i just assumed they all get paid around the same and pretty well. obviously im wrong then and my original comment was ignorant.
