Like I support it in that every worker in every industry deserves fair pay and workers rights. So I’m behind any movement trying to secure that

But of the industries I care about seeing change made in that way, film is pretty low on the list. The vast majority of people in that industry didn’t go into that because they were out of options and desperate.

I see it like living in a trendy neighborhood. Does choosing to live there mean you should be taken advantage of by your landlord? Of course not. Everyone deserves affordable housing. But it’s inherently privileged to be able to live in that kinda neighborhood in the first place. I care so much more about people that are struggling to make ends meet in a neighborhood that they wouldn’t live in if they had the resources

Being a film/tv writer doesn't make u privilege is what I feel like some of u guys aren't getting. And I don't really why desperation really matters. People don't really become teachers because they're desperate either.

If you get to choose to pursue a role in that kinda field you’re privileged lol. U think there aren’t people that wanna be there that arent stuck working at like an Amazon warehouse cause they gotta feed their family?

Desperation matters bc people who are forced into roles are way more vulnerable to being taken advantage of than someone who willingly chose a role cause they like movies a lot or whatever
