Great producer and lyricist who has suffered for his entire career from simply having nothing interesting or novel to say

He has something interesting to say, you just don't resonate with it

What do people rate her as thats excessive? Her hits are definitely better than Beyonce's and her peers. Shes a pop star. I dont think its overrating her to say shes one of the best.

My own hot take is that Rihanna's hits are hit or miss.

We Found Love aged like dogshit.

Diamonds is hard to listen to when you learn that it's basically a Sia cosplay.

And her hits from her first 2 albums are cool but not all that.

Still, she has other hits that are definitely classics.

But I think Crazy In Love, Say My Name, and Love On Top aged better than most of Rhanna's hits.

In the same way that a lot of people can’t stand Drake’s tough talk, I find Kendrick’s self-importance unlistenable. At least Kanye’s self-importance, bravado, and narcissism was fun and affable in a way that was almost relatable and aspirational. Kendrick’s self-importance comes off as “I alone have been chosen to protect all women and children. I am meant to be a shining beacon of godly light and truth.” Where Kanye believed himself to be the most talented person in every room, Kendrick seems to believe himself the most moral and righteous person in every room. And it makes me react like Mourinho ripping off his headphones. It’s nails on a chalkboard to listen to someone hold themselves in that regard

Kendrick is on some buddhist , we are all one s***, past life regressions, collective conscious, spiritual miracle, etc and this goes over a lot of people's heads when they engage with his music, It's funny hearing people's interpretations.

Cole is a quintessential rapper of the early 10s, he's never grown past that era though

It’s not even just the music. It’s his entire persona. You can look at his interview with SZA where he says, “Not like us? Not like us is the energy of who I am, the type of man I represent. This man has morals, he has values, he believes in something, he stands on something.”

Anytime someone self-describes themselves as someone with “morals” and “values” I’m just like shut the f*** up. It’s impossible say something like that and not come off like a piece of s*** with way to high an opinion of themselves tbh.

Idk about hot per se but there’s S tier and beyond S tier culturally and iconically. For example MJ has four beyond S tier songs and like 20 S tier ones

    Here's another one.

The Massacre aged slightly better than the Documentary.

I'm mainly referring to the album cuts though.

Doc had better singles(which were supposed to be 50's) but the album as a whole hasn't aged all that gracefully.

Massacre, however, has strong replay value outside of its singles.

Doctor's Advocate aged better than both though.
