Album Concept: Eclipse (working title)
Era: Post-Invincible (2001), pre-This Is It (2009)
Theme: Redemption, love, social awareness, personal reflection, and danceable grooves
Mood: Emotional, futuristic R&B, with occasional rock, funk, and pop flare
Length: 19 tracks (~70 minutes)
Producers
Rod Temperton (longtime collaborator, for classic MJ funk/R&B)
Teddy Riley (for smooth R&B/hip-hop-infused tracks)
Will.i.am (modern, futuristic beats, electronic textures)
Babyface (ballads)
The Underdogs (polished mid-2000s R&B production)
Timbaland (edgy rhythmic experiments, light glitch textures)
The F**tunes
Guest vocals would be rare; MJ often preferred solo power, maybe one duet with a contemporary R&B artist (e.g., Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake).
Sound
Pop/R&B fusion: Smooth vocals, layered harmonies
Electronic touches: Synth pads, futuristic drum programming
Dance grooves: Classic MJ funk meets 2000s club/R&B
Ballads: Emotional, stripped back piano/R&B orchestration
Social commentary: Reflective lyrics about fame, media, society
Realistic First Week Sales (US)
~250,000–350,000 units
Context: Invincible did 363,000 first week (2001), but 2006 is tougher—digital downloads emerging, Napster aftermath fading, competition from younger pop stars like Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Usher.
Worldwide first-week sales: ~700,000–900,000 units.

Drake in 2006, wtf.
Those are the fake songs the Cascio family worked on and duped the MJ Estate into buying lol.
They had spent so much on the songs and in the deal they had to use so many of them on the album they were putting together after MJ died
So Breaking News was planned to be the first single of Michael in 2010 and they wanted Drake to feature on it because they were convinced it was going to be a smash, when in reality it was literally just a terrible forgery
There's a podcast called Faking Michael which uncovers the whole thing - it's fascinating if you are interested in music like that
