Chopstick came wit a large lo mein extra clip in it I ain’t got no aim
let’s do away with this gif asap
production and vocal choice are major things
a biiiiig part of why people loved him was how he always played with both melodies and rapping and also played with his upper and lower registers but now he’s just rapping in a higher register
also his production is lacking a lot of it sounds smart and plays too hard on the upper end and lacks the bassy hits that really complimented uzi’s melodies because it was almost like those melodies were part of the beat
overall his role as a vocalist was very unique in that his performances melted in with the beat but now he works over the beat instead of within it
you can still see old tendencies in tracks like Lo Mein, Chrim Hearts, and Secure The Bag and it supports this kinda hypothesis
also the mixes of his new stuff are a clear step down from past work, idk if that’s due to cutting ties with drama and cannon or what, but it’s a shame because that’s a big part of it for me and it’s not even really uzi’s fault

fax they just got rid of all bass
His knees are bending so much.

i mean yea but more so that the overall mix is just generally worse it’s not even worth picking out a specific thing about it that’s worse
listen to a song off lir2 like 444+222 for example, and then myron and youll get what i mean, it’s wild
Both the albums are enjoyable. I do agree his music isnt as diverse as it used to be (not using as many different melodies or different song structures anymore). Production definitely is a step down but I think lyrically Uzi still has it. Not having Canon in the pic clearly has affected the music (WoD are basically just a beat factory I don't think they add anything else to the songs besides that). I don't know if we'll ever have a creative period like 2015-2017 again where the sound evolved a ton but I think he's still making good music.

They already admitted they had to slap that VTW2 Mix together in a week (Myron specifically Uzi redid one of his verses too so they had to mix it again). K Lee didn't even get to mix it either so it wasnt even Uzi's primary engineer doing it. I mean its on Uzi to not wait and get it mixed right but it was more for the effect (double drop like Future).

K Lee is usually exceptional so yea that makes sense

Ion think the dude who did mix the songs actually even tried to mix it, he left that song so raw. K Lee Mix never unfortunately

crazy cuz she actually finished mixing for all of the deluxe
EA def was a step down from LIR2 and LUVVTW but he had alotta filler in EA and one actual trash song and that’s sauske
And it took me a long time to truly accept that Wayne was washed but I eventually did and this is why I made this thread so we can all accept it for Uzi too
damn u switched my own opinion on me
goat s***
Uzi is arrogant and mid. Dude made p2. Its artistically trash now no wonder the label was pushing that s*** back like a hairline.
Also last Uzi verse that made me go was on thugs record what’s the move

So I think she walked that back, on twitter yesterday she said she started remixing the songs pre-lockdown but never finished it

Honestly we need Maaly and Don back, I like WOD production but relying on one producer can get tiring, which is why we need em back
