trilogy and kissland had some of the best sample flips from that decade and to blend r&b, pop, new wave, the way he did will never be replicated im sorry but it was genuinely ahead of its time and makes his current s*** feel like its decades behind

its like night and day, even the hills and often were boundary pushing, cinematic pop hits. there was a balance but starboy forward has just been pop ballads with some rap features sprinkled in, its honestly sad
