Palestinian OoziHaven’t seen yet, but I trust PTA and a lot of his movies can be pretty ambiguous which gets conflated with pretentious a lot. I actually don’t mind that he makes movies from a largely white perspective because he’s white loll. I don’t find his movies to be pretentious. But he’s a master at framing shots and letting the camera and atmosphere narrate the movie and what each person can take away from it.

i lost faith in PTA after Inherent Vice it lost my interest in him in my top 3 worst cinema experiences after Godzilla and Inspector Gasget.
Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood are all-time great films.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is really unmatched in scope in terms of modern cinema not even Timothy The Twink and Zendaya on their Dune s*** could touch it. It's the closest we got to the golden age of film a throwback to that era with a 4 hour plus epic.
BR2047 and ZSJL are the best films of the past 5 years easy.

Jan 23, 2022I'm a Paul Thomas Anderson stan; I know somebody who basically followed the full shoot of Licorice Pizza, and I agree with OP: the movie is truly dreadful, the pure product of a very h**** fifty years old man who wants to cheat on his wife and fulfill his teenage fantasies at the same time. Extremely strange.
