    Magnolia was mid

    Punch-Drunk love mid

Inherent Vice is one of the worst films of all time

There Will Be Blood was great, but it's not touching BVS

Movie is no better than an 8/10 and has some significant flaws but Licorice Pizza discourse is f***ing unreadable

An 8 out of 10 is still a gift in these times

Haven’t seen yet, but I trust PTA and a lot of his movies can be pretty ambiguous which gets conflated with pretentious a lot. I actually don’t mind that he makes movies from a largely white perspective because he’s white loll. I don’t find his movies to be pretentious. But he’s a master at framing shots and letting the camera and atmosphere narrate the movie and what each person can take away from it.

You gotta watch Phantom Thread, my dude.

The likelihood of him having the type of sense of humor you need for that is negative a thousand percent

i lost faith in PTA after Inherent Vice it lost my interest in him in my top 3 worst cinema experiences after Godzilla and Inspector Gasget.

Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood are all-time great films.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is really unmatched in scope in terms of modern cinema not even Timothy The Twink and Zendaya on their Dune s*** could touch it. It's the closest we got to the golden age of film a throwback to that era with a 4 hour plus epic.

BR2047 and ZSJL are the best films of the past 5 years easy.

You must not like actors who can act and are interesting to experience on screen (not defending dune at all just find JL to be hypermid on the acting front)

I'm a Paul Thomas Anderson stan; I know somebody who basically followed the full shoot of Licorice Pizza, and I agree with OP: the movie is truly dreadful, the pure product of a very h**** fifty years old man who wants to cheat on his wife and fulfill his teenage fantasies at the same time. Extremely strange.

Which follows my taste in music because I love Dylan because he's can't sing.

Dylan is my goat define "can't sing" because I never understood this take

His voice isn't traditionally pretty but the fact that he can conjure so many beautiful melodies out of thin air with that voice is the opposite of "can't sing"

    perfect example of "Dylan might be the actual best singer";

This also confusing cause Snyder is like the Rush of cinema not the f***ing Dylan

i'm playing with you, Bob is one of my favourites too people who say he can't sing are talking s*** for some of the reasons that you've noted above. It's versatile and has developed overtime along with his music and writing and popping into different eras is always captivating.

His Rolling Thunder performances are amongst my favourite

Yeah I just got the Rolling Thunder criterion a while ago and it was pretty amazing. If I had a time machine to go back to one tour though there's no question it's '66

'66 tour is legendary and it's just banger of a show after a banger of a show, and to think that audiences at the time were heckling him for playing the electric material

Baby, Let Me Down version from that bootleg is in my gym playlist, s*** just pumps me up

Don't know if I'd call Lady Bird pretentious, but it def exudes privileged and whiny white women vibes.

Everybody in that film was an a******, except for the dad who I felt bad for for having to put up with these ppl
