2 classics from a f***ing legend
random but have you made a top 100 album list? i'm curious to see what albums you pick. you got good taste
I agree but it's too long , like basically every other double album
And when I say too long I mean there's too many skippable songs for me and it didn't need to be a double album

diplomatic immunity is the exception
I used to prefer RTD before I fully took in LAD. LAD is a 2hr album that you can listen back to front, it's the most cinematic album I've ever heard. He truly was the rap Alfred Hitchcock. He mastered every type of rap on this, the hit songs, the sad songs, the story telling songs. the lyrical songs, he was in Master form on this.
Also his story telling on this is so so good, I think its underrated and that's saying something considering how high its rated. His stories are genuinly coming like mini novels on this with the detail he goes into when describing characters and places. '"Nothing to lose" tattooed around his gun wounds,
"Everything to gain" embedded in his brain'
I dont think any other rapper has shown a mastery of the different types of rap on a single album like this with that cinematic feeling.
both are 10/10 albums, so i think it comes down more to preference for this type of thing
i prefer ready to die, but you cant go wrong with either one

Hahaha totally forgot about it. Add Purple Haze and Come Home With Me to the list Loved their debut album aswell.
Juelz and Jim never had ''that'' album for me tho.
I see some amazing albums right there , but also alot of stuff I don't know because of all the genres. Maybe I should try something else than rap/hip hop too. Is there an album you would recommend me to start with outside of rap/hiphop?

Real one Juelz's From Me to U is up there for me but it didn't make my Top 100. Jim has several good albums but none of them i would count as classics, or even personal favs.
It depends on what genre you wanna tackle first. Give me one and I'll recommend a personal favorite and a "Classic".

I think pop/jazz would be the best choice
Is that some stuff you listen to?
Idk how to feel about this. Ready to Die slaps more. The hunger resonates a lot with me. Life After Death is a drag at times. But feels like a Scorsese movie. It’s more exquisitely produced. But less rugged at the same time. If I had to live with just one my gut refers me to Ready to Die. Just more of a mood I can relate to.

Jazz, to a lesser extent, but Pop is absolutely one of my favs.
Jazz: I lean more towards the fusion side, so a personal fav I'd recommend is Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock. My classic pick would be Love Supreme because it has a spiritual element to it that goes beyond music.
Pop: My personal fav is Lana Del Rey's Born to Die (Deluxe Ediiton) Infectious hooks, cinematic production, melodramatic lyrics, etc. As for my classic pick, Purple Rain, because it's as close to pop perfection as it can possibly get. There's something for everyone on that album.

I agree, Sade is an essential listen for any music lover. That sultry voice over that soothing musical backdrop
The Velvet Rope for when he's ready for a masterpiece that transcends time, genre, sexuality, etc.

Since he's a hip hop fan and he's in the mood for smooth catchy stuff he's gonna love both
He was like 22 and 24 years old when he put out those albums too. Early 20s niggas not putting out classics right out the gate like that no more.
Nah, LAD doesn't have Everyday Struggle.
