didn't notice he stopped being ass

He can spit when he feels like it and there's worse rappers who blew up at his peak.

But yeah....Durk isn't really all that special. Wouldn't say he's "mid" but he's not someone I really check for unless he's got a good feature on his track or if he's featured on someone's track(he's pretty dope at feats).

2017-18 Durk is excellent & whenever he goes the melodic but still rap driven route, his overall albums always tend to be a bit underwhelming though

Casual music listeners prefer to use music as background noise to whatever activity they’re engaging in. Artists like durk and lil baby make music that’s intended to be background noise. It’s largely inoffensive with samey production that’s supposed to be “hard” but not actually hard enough to scare away the casual listener.

If you sit down and try to engage with this type of music, you’re gonna have a bad time. It’s not meant for that. It’s meant to be played in the background while you’re at a function, or at the gym, or playing warzone.

This is second-screen music. Once you understand that, it’s easy to see how it’s so popular.

Durks older output had a little more personality to it though. Personally never thought he was great however

I remember watching a viral clip of Lil Baby being played at an Atlanta night club and not a soul was dancing or even vibing to the music.

Niggas was texting, talking, and forming cliques while the song was playing lol.

  • No he’s isn’t

He shoulda dropped a help me freestyle too that beat perfect for him

  • He’s was great when he first came out then cooled off for a few years then he started going crazy from like 2017/2018-2022.

I’d say he’s fully leaned into the mainstream pop rapper lane and his music isn’t as good as it was during that 5 year run.
